On July 18, it was reported that PSY will be officially starting a new contract with a different talent agency to represent him in the United States.
PSY had captured the attention of his previous agency, CAA, by his record breakthrough in YouTube views and single sales. He is still signed to School Boy Records, label owned by Scooter Braun.
With the onset of 1-year anniversary of the release of “Gangnam Style,” PSY will be switching agencies. WME, headed by Marc Geiger, is famed for leading the music industry in the U.S. representing top stars such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and LMFAO.
The view count for the music video currently stands around 1.7 billion views.
