[News] The Asian Prince, Jang Geun Suk, has been chosen as a model for an outdoor brand

According to a July 11 announcement by his publicist, Jang Geun Suk has been chosen as a model for the Italian outdoor brand Ferrino. Ferrino is a brand with 143 years of history under its belt and is sold in over 35 countries, including the U.S., France, Australia, and Argentina. Jang Geun Suk will start promoting the brand in TV commercials, on posters, and so on from end of this month.

Currently, advertising for outdoor brands is a battlefield of top stars like Jo In Sung, Lee Min Ho, and Hyun Bin. Having Jang Geun Suk represent the Italian luxury brand breaks away from the stereotypes we’re used to seeing in current outdoor-brand advertising.

Meanwhile, Jang is set to return to TV drama in Beautiful Guy, which is based on a graphic novel by Chun Kye Young

[News] Lee Joon was a poor ballet dancer in his only tights

Appearing on the episode of the TV program Happy Together Season 2 that aired on June 12, Lee Joon of MBLAQ said that he managed for several years with only one pair of tights while he was learning ballet.

The guests on the show were all supposed to tell a story of how they had been frugal in the past, so Lee gave his account of how thrifty he was. He was asked, “Didn’t it cost you a lot of money to major in ballet?” Lee answered, “I held out for several years with only one pair of tights. Sometimes the tights got a hole in the crotch because in ballet a dancer often has to do movements with his legs extended, stressing the garment. I’d get embarrassed about it, but I’d have it sewn up by the next day. I made do like that.”

Lee also commented negatively about the conspicuous consumption on the part of many young singers, who seem to believe that their current earning ability will never wane. He insisted that one should have a prudent philosophy of spending, which got him a round of applause.

Park Hyun Bin, Sung Dae Hyun, Jo Gab Kyung, and Kim Sang Min also appeared as guests on the show.
