[News] VIXX Give Us A Look At Their Softer Sides With 'G.R.8.U'

In May, VIXX showed us their dark and troubled sides with "Hyde" - and now they are back with a sweet, lovable image and the song "G.R.8.U."

As part of their repackaged mini-album, Jekyll, "G.R.8.U" has been described by their label, Jellyfish Entertainment, as a "definitive pop song," and after listening to it and watching the music video, it is easy to see why.

The new single is light and whimsical, with a fair amount of pep. It is a far cry from the serious nature of "Hyde" and begs for us to throw it in the car stereo and roll down the windows.

"We'd like to solely focus on VIXX's nice visuals and show their value as good looking idols without a fantastic concept or powerful performance," explained one official with Jellyfish Entertainment.

At a time when every new K-Pop song release seeks to 'reinvent' idol groups and cause a sensation with provocative concepts or intense choreography, the path chosen by VIXX and their agency is a breath of fresh air.

Without any sensationalism, "G.R.8.U" does exactly what they intended - it shows the six group members as fun-loving nice guys who merely seek to entertain and make enjoyable music.

"G.R.8.U" and Jekyll were released on July 31 and the VIXX members will first showcase the new track on Thursday as part of Mnet's live music show M! Countdown.
