[News] What Has SHINEe Been Doing During Their Break From The Limelight As a Group?

Though it will take a while before their next comeback, SHINee has not totally disappeared from the public. With projects occupying their spare time, here is where you can catch them until they're thrusting and serenading you through your laptop monitors:

Onew of SHINee can be seen on the sitcom "Royal Villa". Onew plays a playful youth who accompanies an older friend to a villa for which they unknowingly have a 3^rd renter: a lady ghost. In the sitcom, you will witness Onew's natural acting skills and his knack for comedy.

Minho will be staring in the new MBC drama "Medical Top Team". Minho plays a young doctor who is a part of a medical team that works together to help patients and resolve medical issues. There will also be conflicts in their relationships with one another seeing as there will be some love triangles thrown into the mix. This is scheduled to air in October.

Key will be participating in the new "Bonnie and Clyde" musical, scheduled to begin on the 4^th of September of this year. In his promotional photo, we see Key in his finest mobster couture, with a cigar and a shotgun and smirk to match.

Taemin can be watched weekly on We Got Married, as he continues to endure (read: not really) the woes of married life with his beautiful soulmate and wife, Naeun of Apink.

And now the only questions is, where is Jonghyun?

SHINee's leader Onew's acting skills have been proven through dramas and musicals. Onew will be showing his acting skills once again as he is confirmed to be cast in JTBC's 'Sitcon Royal Villa'. He usually shows bubbly and chic image but in the upcoming sitcom, he will show a manlier image. Onew's role is a must watch as he will display a new side of him.

Sitcon Royal Villa's first episode will be recorded on the 13th while the broadcast will be in the second week of July.

[News] SHINEe Leader Onew to MC Labelmate EXO's Upcoming Showcase

On May 29, EXO is finally coming back with another showcase in tow. There to host much anticipated comeback showcase is none other than SHINee's leader, Onew.

If you have already forgotten because you passed out in the middle of EXO's last showcase, the leader of Super Junior, Leeteuk, was kind enough to take the spot as MC in the group's debut. As expected, the event was hilarious and panned out well for the entirety of it. Much like Leeteuk, Onew is quite charming and is known to have the gift of gab.

Other details regarding the show itself and the set list is yet to be revealed. In the meantime, many fans can rejoice in the fact that SHINee and EXO are the most adorable group of boys together. What can be expected is that Onew is going to be considerate of them, so he will probably keep the racy questions in his back pocket. Unless the fact that EXO is no longer a rookie group will come into play and they will have to reveal themselves from behind those excuses. It's another option. A better one.

According to an announcement made by their agency, SM Entertainment, on May 16, SHINee (Onew, Jong Hyun, Min Ho, Tae Min, and Key) have written a travel journal titled SHINee’s Surprise Vacation, containing candid descriptions of things they experienced during their travels. It will go on sale on the 25th of May.

An agency official says, “The travel journal contains pictures of beautiful scenery and ordinary life stories of the group members, who traveled to Switzerland, Thailand, England, and Japan. Tae Min enjoys extreme sports in Switzerland, Onew spends a good time at a resort in Thailand, Min Ho enjoys watching a Premiere League game in England, Key enjoys everyday life in London, and Jong Hyun takes a rest in Japan. In the journal, you can see a side of the group members’ lives that is normally hidden from view in their splendid performances. The travel journal consists of souvenir photos, other photos of belongings they took with them, their diary entries during the trips, and their travelogues.”

The travel journal can be ordered in advance in many online bookstores and will go on sale on May 25.

[News] Shinee appears in a special episode of Let’s Go! Dream Team 2 to compete against female high school students.

The group Shinee (Onew, Jong Hyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin) compete against female high school students in KBS 2TV’s Let’s Go! Dream Team 2. The episode, which is to air on May 12, will be not like the usual ones, which typically feature such events as obstacle races, but will be a Shinee special.

The episode was shot at Dongsan Information Industry High School on May 1. All the members of the group took part except for Jong Hyun, who was not able to appear, because of a car accident he was injured in last month. Comedian Noh Woo Jin filled in for Jong Hyun.

They had some good times with soccer players of the high school, playing games related to soccer. Minho, a member of Shinee, is the son of Choi Yoon Gyum, who was a former couch of the Daejeon Citizens of the K League, and it seems that this gives Minho a more competitive spirit.

A preview of the Shinee special was shown during the Children’s Day episode that aride last week.

Kwon Yong Taek, the director of Let’s Go! Dream Team 2, shared his thoughts on the atmosphere of the shooting of the episode: “Minho showed his passion, and he is known for being good at sports. 

Whenever he takes on a challenge, he takes a deep breath with his hand on the chest, showing off his ability, which is as good as that of pro athletes.”

[News] Are Shinee’s Onew and After School’s Jung-A in a romantic relationship? Both agencies say, “Just a friendship”

As soon as rumors of a romantic relationship between Onew and Jung-A broke out, both of their agencies denied there was anything to them. In a telephone interview by TV Report, Onew’s agency said: “We’ve never heard anything about this before. They are just friends, nothing more.” Jung-A’s agency said: “She’s been so friendly with Onew that many people know about it. It’s rather weird that there are rumors of a romance with him. On the day when the picture was taken, it turned out that they had a simple dinner meeting as close coworkers. They’ve been friends as colleagues for a long time.”

Onew, who was born in 1989, debuted as a member of Shinee in 2008, and Jung-A, who was born in 1983, started her singing career as a member of After School in 2009.

[News] SM entertainment makes a public apology for Onew’s behavior

SM entertainment, the agency representing the boy group SHINee, made an official apology on March 19 for the group leader’s bad behavior. He was caught giving the finger to someone. The agency explained, “Onew did that unwittingly while playing around with the other group members as they waited to appear on a radio program. It was not his intention to offend others, but he is now deeply regretting his mistake and will be more careful so as not to let something like that happen again.”

Onew appeared with other members in MBC Radio’s Star Shining Night, which is broadcast over the Internet. Right after the program, people put comments on the program site saying, “Onew showed his middle finger.”
