Singer Kim Hyun Joong clarified the rumors that he doesn't respond to any of younger artists' bows.

In SBS "Hwasin - The Controller Of The Heart" aired yesterday, Kim Hyun Joong came out as one of the guests.

There have been rumors that after Kim Hyun Joong got famous, he doesn't accept or respond to any younger singers' bows.

Kim Hyun Joong said, "It's not that I was too prideful but it's because I get shy when they bow to me. We're not in North Korea. I have nothing to say when they bow to me so once, I just said 'Yes' and avoided them. I feel like I became some authoritative leader."

He continued, "When I go out to music programs, I don't even go to the bathroom that often. I don't want to see other singers bow to me," arousing laughter.

Internet users who saw this commented, "His clarification is so funny," "He's so shy," etc.

Kim Hyun Joong’s new album has nabbed the top spot of the U.S. Billboard World Albums chart.

Based on the latest U.S. Billboard chart rankings, Kim Hyun Joong’s third mini album ‘Round 3’, which was released on July 22, topped the website’s World Album Chart for the first time.

The album gained much attention not only in South Korea but also in other parts of Asia and South America, ranking high in iTunes albums charts in various countries.

For his new album, Kim Hyun Joong enlisted the help of other big names such as Dok2 and Jay Park, as well as directors Jo Soo Hyun and Hong Won Ki and choreographer Keone Madrid.

Kim Hyun Joong‘s third mini album, “Round 3,” has topped Billboard‘s World Albums Chart!

“Round 3″ was released July 22, and in the chart made public in August, the album was ranked first.

Billboard uses data from the Nielsen SoundScan to rank albums from non-English speaking countries.


Kim Hyun Joong not only topped this “world” chart, but also locally in Korea, rising to quickly on online charts after it was released. Kim Hyun Joong also recorded first place in the dance/electronic genre chart for iTunes in eight locations: Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau, and Hong Kong.

Kim Hyun Joong released two music videos from this album: one for “Unbreakable,” which fuses Korean and hip-hop elements, and one for the title track “Your Story,” which shows the singer getting physically intimate with his lover. On July 27, solo singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong guested on KBS 2TV's Entertainment Weekly. He admitted on the show, "I'm a 'Ghost' sunbae'. I feel strange receiving greetings from hoobaes, so I ran away from them."

He added, "I watched new videos of girl groups through Youtube. My favorite is Crayon Pop. Particularly, their 'Bar Bar Bar' choreography is apparently similar to my song 'Lucky Guy,".

He jokingly stated, "Am I too overreacting if I say that they borrowed it from my song? I'm thinking if I could sue them."

He remarked, "I really like Crayon Pop."

Kim Hyun Joong released his latest album “Round 3” on July 22 after two years away from the music scene. The last time he promoted was in October 2011 with his second mini album “Lucky.”

As previously reported, the album is now available on online music sites and fans will be able to hold on to a print copy next week on July 29. The teaser for “Your Story” shows him playing with various elements like fire, water and wind. Dok2 is featured on this track.

Kim Hyun Joong also previously surprised fans by releasing the music video for track “Unbreakable,” featuring JayPark, which is also included in the album.

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong will make his return to the small screen for the first time in three years through upcoming KBS 2TV Wed-Thu drama ‘Grateful Generation’.

‘Grateful Generation’ is based in 1930 Shanghai about youths who go through love, friendship and passion. Kim Hyun Joong will play Sin Jeong Tae, the greatest fighter in all of the backstreets of Shanghai who is clumsy and random at times.

This will mark Kim Hyun Joong’s return to the small screen after a 3 year hiatus following his 2010 MBC TV drama ‘Playful Kiss’. He was to return sooner with ‘City Conquest’ but had to step down as it fell through after the drama failed to secure a time slot with broadcasting stations.

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong may be returning to the small screen after all for it's been reported that he's currently reviewing an offer to star in upcoming drama, 'Inspiring Generation'.

The singer-turned-actor was already supposed to have made a drama comeback through 'City Conquest', but many of you know, the production fell through and the drama never ended up being picked up for airing. So this news should definitely come as of interest for those anticipating his return as an actor!

It was said actor Lee Jun Ki was also reviewing an offer for the drama, so it's not clear if he opted out and Kim Hyun Joong was offered the role instead, or if the two are just cast for different characters. 

'Inspiring Generation' is an action-packed drama which takes places in Shanghai, China during the 1930s and the stories that unfold for the youth of that time.

His agency has stressed that nothing has been confirmed as of yet and they're still in the reviewing stage, so keep your fingers crossed!

 Kim Hyun Joong has sold a record-breaking number of copies of his new Japanese single.

On June 11, Japan’s music chart Oricon announced, “Kim Hyun Joong made a record for reaching 100,000 sales with his all three singles. It’s the first time this has occurred for any Korean solo singer active in Korea.”

Kim Hyun Joong’s third Japanese single ‘TONIGHT’ sold 116,000 copies in the first week. It is the singer’s third single album to sell over 100,000 copies in the first week of release following his previous singles ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ and ‘HEAT’.

A representative of Universal Music Japan said, “Not only the new album ‘TONIGHT’, but also the previously released singles ‘HEAT’ and ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ are having orders until now. They are sold out already in some stores, proving his hot popularity.”

On 8th, Kim Hyun Joong held ‘Kim Hyun Joong Show Party People’ at Koryo University in Seoul. After 1.5 years, Kim Hyun Joong finally held another fanmeet in Korea, celebrating his birthday with 5000 domestic fans.

Kim Hyun Joong performed a total of 18 songs, including latest songs from his 3rd Japanese single ‘Tonight’ and Korean digital single ‘The Reason I’m Alive’. The fanmeet lasted for 2 hours and every moment was a joyous one for both Kim Hyun Joong and his fans.

The highlight of the birthday fanmeet was when a VCR of Kim Hyun Joong doing ‘Kwiyomi’ was shown to fans. This came as a real surprise for his fans as they did not expect Kim Hyun Joong to do so, since he is always awkard about such cute gestures.

During the fanmeet, Kim Hyun Joong also expressed that “I’m the happiest when I’m on stage performing for my fans, I will not forget about the good times I had with you today. I hope to return with being more matured in the future”.
