Recently, group ZE:A’s member Im Siwan revealed his academic achievements during his school years.
On the episode of KBS’s “1 Vs. 100,” which was aired on August 13, Im Siwan appeared to make his attempt to win the prize.

When MC Han Suk Joon asked what kind of student he was, Im Siwan answered, “From elementary school to high school years, I was class president. I also achieved number one rank academically, and was the school vice president in middle and high schools.”

Im Siwan also added, “I believed that once I get into university, I wouldn’t have to study at all. So I decided to study as hard as I can before college. Then one day, I was picked by an agency when they saw me at a music audition.”

2AM, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, MBLAQ, and other top idol groups will be visiting Inchon all together on September 1.

According to a few representatives, top idol groups will be attending the '2013 Inchon K-pop Tour Concert' being held on September 1.

The MCs of the concert will be Yuri and Tiffany of Girls' Generation, and total of 20 idol groups including 2AM, FTISLAND, miss A, ZE:A, Girl's Day, B2ST, Girls' Generation, Super Junior, SECRET, SISTAR, MBLAQ, KARA, and T-ara will be performing.

This tour concert, being held for the 5th time since 2009, is being used to promote the city to tourists from oversea countries.

The concert is free and the tickets can be purchased online from August 9 online (www.yes24.com).

ZE:A’s agency, Star Empire, uploaded a teaser of ZE:A’s new title Ghosts of the Wind on their official YouTube channel. In the teaser, they emphasize that the group is back together by showing all nine members in white suits with fancy ornamentation in gold. Their costumes fluttering in the wind are well suited to their new title Ghosts of the Wind. The scene, which shows that all nine members together look so splendid, is generating great anticipation.

An official of the agency says, “After pursuing individual careers for a while, the ZE:A members are finally back together as a complete group. In particular, ZE:A’s leader Junyoung is back after two years and five months.

ZE:A released the new teaser at noon on August 6. A showcase and fan meeting celebrating the new album will be held on August 8 at Club Ellui, in Seoul.

On the most recent episode of the KBS talk show, “Hello,” ZE:A’s Siwan revealed some funny stories about the nuisances of Kwanghee!

Kwanghee admitted that he always asked the ZE:A members, especially Siwan, how he looked. Siwan shared that Kwanghee once came into his room at 5AM and asked him which of the three white shirts looked better on him.

Siwan said, “To me, they all looked the same. They were all just white shirts.” Afterwards, Siwan admitted that he started to lock his door, which made everyone laugh.

Siwan also revealed, “Kwanghee would also video call me so much that I changed my phone to one that doesn’t have video calling.” But to that, Kwanghee shot back, “I can just video call your manager then!”
Kwanghee also shared, “Once, I wore a shirt that Siwan picked for me to the airport but I got picked as the worst dressed by fans. That day, I harrassed Siwan a lot.”

Meanwhile, Kwanghee confessed that he used to cry because of the other ZE:A members’ naturally good-looks.

ZE:A’s Siwan has been confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming KBS drama, ‘Expect Dating’.

On July 30, Star Empire announced that Siwan has been cast for a role in the 2-episode pilot drama ‘Expect Dating’ alongside BoA and Choi Daniel.

In the drama, Siwan will appear as Jung Jin Guk, a good-looking guy and has a lot of charms but is a rookie in love and dating. This marks his comeback to the small screen in nearly a year after KBS 2TV’s ‘Man From the Equator’ and MBC’s ‘Standby’.

On July 25, Starship Entertainment released another image teaser of a different member through ZE:A’s official Twitter. Kwanghee was the first member to be introduced through the teaser and today it is Heechul.

He looks solemn and posed as he delicately places his hands on his black pants. He finishes the outfit with a black top, emphasizing the dark aura of the black and white teaser. The message reads, “I think I’m already dead.” It’s been revealed that each teaser will have a part of the lyrics included, making many fans curious how it will be portrayed musically.

The group is planning to make a comeback on August 9 with track “Ghost of Wind” from the album “Illusion,” which is said to have a house dance as the music’s foundation along with a fantasy element.

ZE:A‘s Park Hyung Shik has revealed his surprising past with big name agencies.

On July 23, Park Hyung Shik was a guest on “Hwa Shin” and shared that he was a vocal singer in a band during his high school years.

MC Bong Tae Gyu stated, “Park Hyung Shik was in a band as a vocal since high school and he is so skilled that he placed number one in a Kyeongki province competition. I hear that he received offers from big companies that we hear about all the time these days.”

Park Hyung Shik revealed that he received offers from SM and YG and when the MCs asked why he turned them down, he answered, “At that time, I didn’t compete because I wanted to be a singer but because I just liked music. I didn’t even know anything about agencies. Later on, an agency approached me and said, ‘We need a guy like you,’ so I joined the agency, which is where I am now.”

Meanwhile, Kwang Hee humorously stated that he doesn’t have any jealousy toward Park Hyung Shik, regardless of his recent popularity.

Kwang Hee said, “Honestly, I was very jealous of Siwan. I always thought, ‘Why does everyone like Siwan?’ But no matter how popular Hyung Shik is right now, I’m not jealous.”

To that Hyung Shik replied, “Thank you for not being jealous,” and “You don’t know how tiring it is when he gets jealous,” which made everyone laugh.

In a recent episode of MBC Every1’s ‘Star Photo n Talk’ featured the list for the 30 best looking idol stars. Among countless idols, 2PM’s Nichkhun came out on top according to the show's ranking.

A great number of plastic surgeons, TV show staffs, personology specialists, and viewers participated in the poll. Nichkhun was voted as the best looking idol star, defeating ZE:A’s Siwan in a close fight of 0.16 points.

Kim Hyung Joong came in 3rd followed by Super Junior’s SiWon, SHINee’s Minho, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA and miss A’s Suzy.

[News] ZE:A’s second unit ZE:A 4U to release single in Japan in June

Idol group ZE:A recently formed its unit group ZE:A5 and made successful debut in both Japan and Korea. The rest of the members who didn’t make it into unit will soon be meeting their Japanese fans as the group’s second unit group.

On May 29, Star Empire Entertainment announced through the group’s official Twitter, “ZE:A 4U′s Japanese single ‘Oops!!’ will be released on June 17”, and uploaded two album jacket photos.

‘Oops!!’ contains a total of three tracks and will come in two different versions; Version A includes a pictorial while Version B includes a pictorial and a DVD.

ZE:A members Junyoung, Kwanghee, Taeheon and Heecheol will be forming the “ZE:A 4U” unit. It first launched in April, and already held a fanmeeting at the Tokyo Dome.

[News] ZE:A Siwan-B1A4 Baro To Star In Short Film, 'The Unborn'

K-Pop stars Siwan of ZE:A and B1A4's Baro are confirmed as cast members of an upcoming short film project.

On Tuesday the stars' agencies released word that Siwan and Baro will be taking part in the filming of Mi Sang (translated as The Unborn), a short film based on a popular web cartoon of the same name.

Rumors have suggested that ballad group 2AM's Changmin is also tied to the film project, although according to his agency, Big Hit Entertainment, the decision has yet to be made final.

The Unborn is about a man who has aspirations of becoming a professional baduk (Korean chess) player. When he is unsuccessful he joins the masses of salaried office employees and joins a company.

The web cartoon was started in January 2012 and is still going strong due to its relatable content and accurate depiction of company life.

The film will serve as a prequel to the cartoon and follows the stories of six characters from the comic. It will be released in separate parts over the course of six weeks beginning May 24.

This is not the first time the cartoon's creator, Yoon Tae Ho, has had one of his comics adapted for the screen, Algae was also made into a film.

Siwan first gained attention for his acting during the popular historical drama The Moon Embracing the Sun. In addition to his acting experience, Baro is no stranger to web comics. His group B1A4 was made their debut and were introduced to the world through a webtoon.

Filming for The Unborn began on May 7.
