On May 6, B1A4 made a comeback after five months of hiatus. In the middle of 'May'hem of K-pop that features nearly all the big-name artists ranging from idol groups, super solos and vocal groups, B1A4 is not stressed about their competition.
B1A4 has their unique colors. With a number of self-written, self-composed songs in the new album, they certainly put in the work to find their identity as musicians.
Asked about the album, they replied, "Our fans had a lot of hopes and anticipation for the new album, so we worked very hard to show them something new and different." Their attentiveness throughout the interview seemed to point to their consistent humility that has been at their roots since their debut.
About the steep competition in the month of May, they said, "We decided to give up expectations and empty our minds. We are actually honored to share the stage with legends who have paved the way for us. Maybe they will like us if they see us doing our best to do our music."
During the 5-month break, B1A4 members spent their free time doing a variety of things. San Deul had a funny story to share.
"I practiced the guitar during our off time. I signed up for a group lesson but the teacher did not recognize me. So I just introduced myself as unemployed. Whenever I would arrive late to lessons due to B1A4 events, he would chastise me, asking why a jobless guy is late to lessons. Later I told him that I am a member of B1A4 and he was shocked."
B1A4's ultimate goal is "For a lot of people to listen to our songs and love them. We are trying our best to build a connection between our experiences and those of the majority of the public. We hope to share our songs with more and more people out there."
