[News] f(x) Krystal Opens Up About The Pressures Of Being An Idol

Being a K-Pop idol sure isn't easy - and f(x)'s Krystal knows that all too well.

Earlier this month Krystal was the victim of some rather nasty social media comments and threats because of an internet rumor that spread suggesting she may be romantically involved with Big Bang leader G-Dragon. Fans of the YG rapper-singer went on Twitter and Instagram to berate Krystal ultimately leading to her having to delete both accounts.

On May 24 MBC broadcasted a special show titled Amzing f(x) Special that featured the group members skydiving in New Zealand and interviews with each of the girls.

Krystal's face looked worried during her interview segment as she recounted the difficulties of being a K-Pop idol.

"I don't like places with a lot of people," she said. "It made me so miserable whenever people stared at me."

She said she understands this pressure and attention is something all celebrities must endure. "Since I'm a celebrity, I'm supposed to get used to and even enjoy people looking at me, but I can't."
In an attempt to overcome her worries and try to let loose, Krystal decided to participate in the skydiving challenge on the MBC program. "I want to let go of that side of me through skydiving," she explained.

Krystal even went as far as to say, "I didn't choose the idol life... it chose me."

While many fans are supportive of the f(x) singer and even feel sorry for the stress she is under, her comments in the broadcast have been getting a lot of attention from netizens.

A Mydaily article about Krystal's troubled confession received a tremendous amount of responses. "Shouldn't have become a celebrity if that makes you miserable," read one post.

Other netizens took to complaining about celebrities in general who have expressed similar worries. "I think it's ridiculous whenever celebrities say in interviews that they feel pressure by the interest of the public. If you choose to be a celebrity, this is just one aspect of the career that you have to either embrace or deal with," read another comment.

The Amazing f(x) Special seems to be Krystal's way of being open and honest about her feelings and to try new methods for dealing with her incredible pressures. But if the recent social media incident and her television interview are not already enough, maybe netizens and fans should take another serious look at their interactions with celebrities and go a little easier on them in the future.
